    6 Super Effective Learning Methods

    6/1/2021

    Hello!

    Happy June 1st!

    Welcome to this Tuesday's 2 x 2 Newsletter.

Every week, I share insights from my exploration into the science and art of learning.

My aim is to offer you valuable ideas and tools that you can start using today to learn faster and better.

    2 Quotes on Learning:

    • "Experience isn't the best teacher; evaluated experience is." — John C. Maxwell

    • "Taking responsibility for your own learning is one of the most important things you can do." — Barbara Oakley

    2 Thoughts From Me:

    • Adaptation is more important than efficiency when it comes to learning. You can learn knowledge and skills quickly in a classroom. But, if they don't transfer to the outside world, they aren't worth much. Some skills that transfer really well: public speaking, humour, writing, and critical thinking.

    • Learning can only compound when you have the right habits. But, habits take time to cultivate properly. The more you travel and move around, the harder it is to build new habits. The more you stay in one place, the easier it is to establish them. If you want to keep learning, it helps to maintain a stable environment.

Here is a visual resource I created that outlines six super effective learning strategies. It's free to download. Please share if it adds value to you! :)

    Until next week,

P.S. Barbara Oakley's latest book, Learn Like a Pro, is out today. I will offer a detailed summary of the book next week.
